This clip personifies what comes out of countless conversations I have with YBPs nowadays. Individually, we are just a professional, but there is something more we can do.
This clip personifies what comes out of countless conversations I have with YBPs nowadays. There was a time when we had aspirations of making a difference; A time of limitless potential in our immediate future. But today…Today we look at the conditions of the world (specifically our world) and say I’m just a professional. Many YBPs would like to do something but feel a sense of being tied up with our own day-to-day activities. While this is understandable, I humbly suggest this is still unacceptable.
I watch the generation before us make plans for the future that include us in a consequential way; not in a proactive manner. It is somehow assumed we will just follow their plan while focus is continually placed on the generation(s) AFTER us. In truth, if we are not addressed, there is no generation after us. They are more lost than we are. Nevertheless there is something we can do.
Individually, we are just a professional. But if we bring our expertise and ideas to the table, we can explore the usefulness of our talents for improving our direction and that of our generation. But upon looking at local and global situations my only concern is, like Denzel in the clip; I wish we had more time.
