Your place as a leader is either on top, out front, and or, all around. In leadership either position is okay. Where are you?
Most leaders at the top, are relational leaders. These leaders tend to be excellent in communication. This leader works very well with others. Leaders at the top will explain to insure understanding over the "because I said so" leader. At the top this leader is always representative of the STANDARD. To be an on top leader and stay there you must have the respect and admiration of those that you work with.
Helpful hints to being on top:
-Think connection.
-Talk to your people, not at them.
-Don't get into the hierarchy ROLE (power trip).
-Always lead by example, showing Great discipline.
-Remember, those that you see going up are the same that you see coming down.
Out front leaders are somewhat different. These leaders tend to work well with others, however, they are also very effective alone. Out front leaders are excellent in delegation and innovation. These leaders are always out front due to their over achiever personality. They are the first to experience the latest technologies. These leaders are also Great teachers. Out front leaders are often seen as important assets by their team members. They have many followers. This type of leader never has a problem with going ABOVE and BEYOND!
Helpful hints to getting out front:
-Have a leadership mindset.
-Don't be afraid to take charge.
-Take RISKS!
-Education.
-Earn the respect of your colleagues and peers.
Now lastly, the ALL AROUND Leader. This type of leader can easily be the person that's worked his way up from the bottom, very hard workers. All around leaders view both sides of the coin. This leader can see things from the employee-boss perspective and vice-versa. All around leaders tend to think TEAM over self. They constantly recognize others. All around leaders also have the ability to motivate others around them to do more.
Helpful hints on being and all around leader:
-Work hard no matter what.
-Be TEAM oriented.
-Be a person of Integrity.
-Attitude is everything.
